The Florida Senate unanimously passed SB 1500, the 2013-2014 General Appropriations Act, prioritizing investments in education and economic development while saving nearly $3 billion in reserves. View the Appropriations Page.

The joint agenda includes bold steps to tackle ethics and campaign finance reform, fiscally responsible changes to Florida’s local public sector pension plans, innovations in Florida’s higher education system and a review of Florida election laws.

The Florida Senate and House unanimously passed, and the Governor signed in to law, ethics and campaign finance reform packages that address reported ethical concerns and promote public confidence in Florida’s elected officials.

SB 1076, known as the Career and Professional Education (CAPE) Act, integrates high-demand skills into elementary, middle and high school curricula by allowing students to apply rigorous industry certifications to demonstrate college and career readiness.
