Senate Resolution

A resolution recognizing Sergeant Major Frank O. Moore of

3

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, on his induction into the Army

4

Ranger Hall of Fame.

     WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Frank O. Moore has had a

7

distinguished military career, beginning in the Marine Corps and

8

continuing through 15 years in the Army, and

9

     WHEREAS, his career in the Army developed from his service

10

in the Rangers in Vietnam through several reconnaissance units

11

and Ranger Battalions to Special Forces A Teams, and

12

     WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Moore was one of the first members

13

of the HALO (High Altitude - Low Opening) jump team and he logged

14

thousands of jumps while in military service, and

15

     WHEREAS, he received more than 21 awards and decorations

16

during his outstanding career, including the Silver Star, the

17

Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the Air Medal, and

18

     WHEREAS, following his stalwart military service to his

19

country, Sergeant Major Moore retired with his wife, Leone, to

20

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where he continues an active life with

21

other retired Rangers and their families, and

22

     WHEREAS, the Army Ranger Hall of Fame was formed to honor

23

and preserve the contributions of the most extraordinary U.S.

24

Rangers in American history, and its Selection Board takes

25

particular care to ensure that only the most extraordinary

26

Rangers are inducted, and

27

     WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Frank O. Moore will be inducted into

28

the Army Ranger Hall of Fame at Fort Benning, Georgia, on June

29

11, 2008, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

     That the Senate recognizes and honors the outstanding career

34

accomplishments and dedicated military service of Sergeant Major

35

Frank O. Moore, and congratulates him heartily on his well-earned

36

induction into the Army Ranger Hall of Fame.

37

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with

38

the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Sergeant Major

39

Frank O. Moore as a tangible token of the esteem of the Florida

40

Senate.
