    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to rural enterprise zones; requiring
    3         the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development
    4         to designate certain rural catalyst sites as rural
    5         enterprise zones upon request of a host county;
    6         specifying request requirements; specifying effect of
    7         designation; specifying reporting requirements for
    8         rural catalyst sites designated as a rural enterprise
    9         zone; specifying a reporting entity; providing an
   10         effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Notwithstanding s. 290.0065(1), Florida
   15  Statutes, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development
   16  shall designate as a rural enterprise zone any catalyst site as
   17  defined in s. 288.0656, Florida Statutes, which is not located
   18  in a rural enterprise zone designated pursuant to s. 290.0065,
   19  Florida Statutes, upon request of the host county. The request
   20  from the host county must include the legal description of the
   21  rural catalyst site together with the name and contact
   22  information for the entity responsible for filing all required
   23  reports. The designation shall provide businesses locating on
   24  the rural catalyst site the same access to the benefits of a
   25  rural enterprise zone as designated under s. 290.0065, Florida
   26  Statutes. The reporting criteria for a rural catalyst site
   27  designated as a rural enterprise zone under this section is the
   28  same as for other rural enterprise zones, with the host economic
   29  development organization serving as the reporting entity.
   30         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
