A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the breast cancer early detection and
3treatment referral program; amending s. 381.932, F.S.;
4revising certain criteria of the program by requiring that
5the public education and outreach initiative and
6professional education programs use guidelines currently
7employed by the United States Centers for Disease Control
8and Prevention rather than the United States Preventive
9Services Task Force; providing an effective date.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13     Section 1.  Paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection (3) of
14section 381.932, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
15     381.932  Breast cancer early detection and treatment
16referral program.-
17     (3)  The program shall include, but not be limited to, the:
18     (a)  Establishment of a public education and outreach
19initiative to publicize breast cancer early detection services,
20the benefits of early detection of breast cancer, and the
21recommended frequency for receiving screening services,
22including clinical breast examinations and mammography
23guidelines currently employed established by the United States
24Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Preventive Services
25Task Force.
26     (b)  Development of professional education programs that
27include information regarding the benefits of the early
28detection of breast cancer and the recommended frequency for
29receiving a mammogram, as recommended in the most current breast
30cancer screening guidelines currently employed established by
31the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
32Preventive Services Task Force.
33     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
