CS/CS/CS/SB 402: Regulation of Firearms and Ammunition

GENERAL BILL by Rules ; Community Affairs ; Criminal Justice ; Negron ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Evers

Regulation of Firearms and Ammunition; Clarifies and reorganizes provisions that preempt to the state the entire field of regulation of firearms. Prohibits the violation of the Legislature's occupation of the whole field of regulation of firearms and ammunition by the enactment or causation of enforcement of any local ordinance or administrative rule or regulation. Provides additional intent of the act. Eliminates provisions authorizing counties to adopt an ordinance requiring a waiting period between the purchase and delivery of a handgun, etc.
