A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to concealed weapons or firearms; creating
3s. 790.062, F.S.; providing that otherwise qualified
4members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces be
5issued a concealed weapon or firearm license regardless of
6age or United States residency in certain circumstances;
7providing additional methods for the taking of
8fingerprints from such license applicants; providing an
9effective date.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
12
13     Section 1.  Section 790.062, Florida Statutes, is created
14to read:
15     790.062  Members and veterans of United States Armed
16Forces; exceptions from licensure provisions.-
17     (1)  Notwithstanding s. 790.06(2)(a) and (b), the
18Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall issue a
19license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm under s. 790.06
20if the applicant is otherwise qualified and:
21     (a)  Is a servicemember, as defined in s. 250.01; or
22     (b)  Is a veteran of the United States Armed Forces who was
23discharged under honorable conditions.
24     (2)  The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
25shall accept fingerprints of an applicant under this section
26administered by any law enforcement agency, military provost, or
27other military unit charged with law enforcement duties or as
28otherwise provided for in 790.06(5)(c).
29     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
