CS/CS/SB 866: Judgment Interest

GENERAL BILL by Governmental Oversight and Accountability ; Judiciary ; Bogdanoff

Judgment Interest; Requires the Chief Financial Officer to set the rate of interest payable on judgments or decrees for the calendar quarter on certain specified dates. Revises the calculation of the interest rate. Specifies the dates the rate of interest established by the Chief Financial Officer is to take effect. Provides that the rate of interest is established at the time a judgment is obtained. Requires that such interest rate be adjusted quarterly in accordance with a certain interest rate. Conforms provisions to changes made by the act.
