House Resolution
2A resolution recognizing the 2010 Jefferson High School
3Football Team, winners of the Florida High School Athletic
4Association Class 3A State Championship.

6     WHEREAS, with commitment, determination, and hard work,
7Tampa's Jefferson High School Football Team won the Florida High
8School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship on
9December 17, 2010, at the Florida Citrus Bowl by beating Miami
10Norland Senior High School with a score of 44 to 34, and
11     WHEREAS, claiming the State Championship title, the 2010
12Jefferson High School Football Team finished the season with a
1315-0 record, and
14     WHEREAS, led by Head Coach Mike Fenton and his coaching
15staff, the 2010 Jefferson High School Football Team consistently
16demonstrated outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and
17competitiveness throughout their remarkable season, breaking
18numerous records along the way and setting the state record for
19most points in a regular season and in a single season,
20including the state playoffs, and
21     WHEREAS, the 2010 championship marks the first Florida High
22School Athletic Association State Championship for the Jefferson
23High School Football Team and the first state team title in the
2471-year history of the school, and
25     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the 2010 Jefferson
26High School Football Team is applauded for the historic
27accomplishments of its players and coaches and for the team's
28contributions to both student athletics and the community, NOW,
29THEREFORE,

31Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
32Florida:

34     That the 2010 Jefferson High School Football Team is
35honored for its outstanding record and for winning the 2010
36Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A State
37Championship.
38     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
39presented to the 2010 Jefferson High School Football Team as a
40tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
