A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to state parks; amending s. 258.0145,
3F.S.; providing for the parents of certain deceased
4veterans and the spouse and parents of law enforcement
5officers and firefighters who die in the line of duty to
6receive annual entrance passes to state parks at no
7charge; exempting parks within the state park system that
8have free-roaming animal populations from the liability
9provisions in s. 588.15, F.S.; designating Jack Mashburn
10Marina in Bay County; directing the Department of
11Environmental Protection to erect suitable markers;
12providing an effective date.

14Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16     Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 258.0145, Florida
17Statutes, is amended, and subsection (4) is added to that
18section, to read:
19     258.0145  Military state park fee discounts.-The Division
20of Recreation and Parks shall provide the following discounts on
21park fees to persons who present written documentation
22satisfactory to the division which evidences their eligibility
23for the discounts:
24     (3)  Surviving spouses and parents of deceased members of
25the United States Armed Forces, National Guard, or reserve
26components thereof who have fallen in combat shall receive
27lifetime family annual entrance passes at no charge.
28     (4)  Surviving spouses and parents of a law enforcement
29officer, as defined in s. 943.10(1), or a firefighter, as
30defined in s. 633.30(1), who has died in the line of duty shall
31receive lifetime family annual entrance passes at no charge.
32     Section 2.  Any property within the state park system that
33has free-roaming animal populations is exempt from the
34provisions of s. 588.15, Florida Statutes.
35     Section 3.  Jack Mashburn Marina designated; Department of
36Environmental Protection to erect suitable markers.-
37     (1)  The marina commonly referred to as the "boat basin" on
38Grand Lagoon at St. Andrews State Park in Bay County is
39designated as "Jack Mashburn Marina."
40     (2)  The Department of Environmental Protection is directed
41to erect suitable markers designating Jack Mashburn Marina as
42described in subsection (1).
43     Section 4.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
