       Senator Bogdanoff moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 528 - 529
    4  and insert:
    5  nursing services. Medical benefits for massage services as
    6  defined in s. 480.033 and acupuncture services as defined in s.
    7  457.102 may be reimbursed under this section only if such
    8  services are rendered by a licensed massage therapist as defined
    9  in s. 480.033 or a licensed acupuncturist as defined in s.
   10  457.102. Acupuncture services and massage services may be
   11  reimbursed only if the patient is referred by a physician
   12  licensed under chapter 458 or chapter 459 or a chiropractic
   13  physician licensed under chapter 460. Acupuncture therapy and
   14  massage therapy are covered only if they are components of a
   15  treatment plan that is medically necessary and are not covered
   16  in the absence of treatment or other therapeutic modalities
   17  performed by the referring physician. Reimbursement for visits
   18  for services provided in this paragraph is limited to 24 visits
   19  or to the number of visits rendered within 24 weeks after the
   20  date of the initial treatment, whichever occurs first, unless
   21  the insurer authorizes additional visits for services.
