       The Committee on Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human
       Services Appropriations (Gaetz) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 720 - 737
    4  and insert:
    5         456.0135 General background screening provisions.—
    6         (1) An application for initial licensure received on or
    7  after January 1, 2013, under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter
    8  460, chapter 461, or chapter 464, or s. 465.022 shall include
    9  fingerprints pursuant to procedures established by the
   10  department through a vendor approved by the Department of Law
   11  Enforcement and fees imposed for the initial screening and
   12  retention of fingerprints. Fingerprints must be submitted
   13  electronically to the Department of Law Enforcement for state
   14  processing and the Department of Law Enforcement shall forward
   15  the fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for
   16  national processing. Each board, or the department if there is
   17  no board, shall screen the results to determine if an applicant
   18  meets licensure requirements. For any subsequent renewal of the
   19  applicant’s license that requires a national criminal history
   20  check, the department shall request the Department of Law
   21  Enforcement to forward the retained fingerprints of the
   22  applicant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
