       The Committee on Judiciary (Latvala) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 29 - 36
    4  and insert:
    5         (3) The marshal and his or her deputies shall be law
    6  enforcement officers as defined in s. 943.10(1), under the
    7  direction and control of the Supreme Court with full powers to
    8  bear arms and make arrests in accordance with the laws of this
    9  state. In performance of their official duties for the Supreme
   10  Court, they may apprehend without warrant a person disturbing
   11  the peace and deliver that person to the appropriate law
   12  enforcement officer of the municipality or county in which
   13  further proceedings may be held according to law. The powers
   14  granted in this section may be exercised only in furtherance of
   15  and in connection with performance of official duties for the
   16  Supreme Court.

   19         And the title is amended as follows:
   20         Delete lines 7 - 9
   21  and insert:
   22  
   23         deputies are law enforcement officers with full powers
   24         to bear arms and make arrests under certain
   25         conditions; limiting the use of those powers to
   26         performance of official duties for the Supreme Court;
