SB 1658: Traffic Infraction Procedures

GENERAL BILL by Evers

Traffic Infraction Procedures; Providing that a person receiving a notice of violation involving a traffic infraction detector or similar unattended device may request a hearing or pay a fine; providing that if a hearing is requested, the person is not required to pay the fine until after adjudication or settlement; specifying that the burden for proving guilt in a traffic infraction proceeding rests with the governmental entity bringing the charge; providing for compensation for witnesses as required by law, etc.
