       Senator Brandes moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (218538) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 1091 and 1092
    5  insert:
    6         Section 29. Subsection (4) of section 320.089, Florida
    7  Statutes, is amended to read:
    8         320.089 Members of National Guard and active United States
    9  Armed Forces reservists; former prisoners of war; survivors of
   10  Pearl Harbor; Purple Heart medal recipients; Operation Desert
   11  Storm Veterans; Operation Desert Shield Veterans; Operation
   12  Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Veterans; Combat
   13  Infantry Badge or Combat Action Badge recipients; Vietnam War
   14  Veterans; Korean Conflict Veterans; special license plates;
   15  fee.—
   16         (4) The owner or lessee of an automobile or truck for
   17  private use, a truck weighing not more than 7,999 pounds, or a
   18  recreational vehicle as specified in s. 320.08(9)(c) or (d)
   19  which automobile, truck, or recreational vehicle is not used for
   20  hire or commercial use who is a resident of the state and a
   21  current or former member of the United States military who was
   22  deployed and served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, or another area of
   23  the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm or Operation
   24  Desert Shield; in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom; or in
   25  Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom shall, upon
   26  application to the department, accompanied by proof of active
   27  membership or former active duty status during one of these
   28  operations, and upon payment of the license tax for the vehicle
   29  as provided in s. 320.08, be issued a license plate as provided
   30  by s. 320.06 upon which, in lieu of the registration license
   31  number prescribed by s. 320.06, shall be stamped the words
   32  “Operation Desert Storm,” “Operation Desert Shield,” “Operation
   33  Iraqi Freedom,” or “Operation Enduring Freedom,” as appropriate,
   34  followed by the registration license number of the plate.
