Rights of Grandparents and Great-grandparents; Revising the definition of the term “next of kin” to include great-grandparents for purposes of various proceedings relating to children; providing great-grandparents the same visitation rights as grandparents; providing for a great-grandparent’s right to notice of adoption; repealing provisions relating to actions by a grandparent for visitation rights; providing for application of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act; encouraging the consolidation of certain concurrent actions; repealing provisions relating to the effect of adoption of a child by a stepparent on grandparent visitation rights, etc.
