       The Committee on Appropriations (Richter) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 840 and 841
    4  insert:
    5         Section 16. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
    6  443.151, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         443.151 Procedure concerning claims.—
    8         (2) FILING OF CLAIM INVESTIGATIONS; NOTIFICATION OF
    9  CLAIMANTS AND EMPLOYERS.—
   10         (a) In general.—Initial and continued claims for benefits
   11  must be made by approved electronic or alternate means and in
   12  accordance with rules adopted by the Department of Economic
   13  Opportunity. The department must provide alternative means, such
   14  as telephone, for filing initial and continued claims when the
   15  department determines access to the approved electronic means is
   16  or will be unavailable and must provide public notice of such
   17  unavailability. The department must notify claimants and
   18  employers regarding monetary and nonmonetary determinations of
   19  eligibility. Investigations of issues raised in connection with
   20  a claimant which may affect a claimant’s eligibility for
   21  benefits or charges to an employer’s employment record shall be
   22  conducted by the department through written, telephonic, or
   23  electronic means as prescribed by rule.
