       The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Clemens) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 36 - 57
    4  and insert:
    5         (a) To be eligible for a Florida Best and Brightest Teacher
    6  scholarship, a teacher must have completed his or her second
    7  year of teaching; must have scored at or above the 60th
    8  percentile on the SAT or the ACT, based upon the percentile
    9  ranks in effect when the teacher took the assessment; and must
   10  have been evaluated as highly effective pursuant to s. 1012.34.
   11         (b) In order to demonstrate eligibility for an award, a
   12  teacher must submit to the school district no later than October
   13  1 an official record of his or her SAT or ACT score
   14  demonstrating that he or she scored at or above the 60th
   15  percentile, based upon the percentile ranks in effect when he or
   16  she took the assessment. If a teacher is deemed eligible by the
   17  school district, the teacher will remain eligible as long as he
   18  or she is employed by the school district and maintains the
   19  highly effective level pursuant to s. 1012.34.
