       Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism, and
       Economic Development (Brandes) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Substitute for Amendment (545342) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 88 - 119
    5  and insert:
    6         automation and safety technology that integrates sensor
    7  array, wireless vehicle-to-vehicle communications, active safety
    8  systems, and specialized software to link safety systems and
    9  synchronize acceleration and braking between two vehicles while
   10  leaving each vehicle’s steering control and systems command in
   11  the control of the vehicle’s driver in compliance with the
   12  National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules regarding
   13  vehicle-to-vehicle platooning.
