CS/CS/HB 1215: Residential Elevators

GENERAL BILL by Commerce Committee ; Careers and Competition Subcommittee ; Jacquet ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Peters

Residential Elevators; Requires that elevator controller be capable of monitoring closed & locked contacts of hoistway door locking device & of interrupting power for motor & brake for hoistway door locking device; prohibits elevator from being restarted until certain conditions are met; requires visual indicator be visible at landings; deletes requirement that underside of platform of elevator be equipped with specified device; deletes requirement that manual reset of elevator occur before downward motion is allowed; requires Florida Building Commission to adopt certain provisions relating to residential elevators into Florida Building Code.
