       The Committee on Ethics and Elections (Gibson) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Delete lines 216 - 268.

    6  And the title is amended as follows:
    7         Delete lines 2 - 31
    8  and insert:
    9         An act relating to the canvassing of provisional
   10         ballots; amending s. 97.053, F.S.; revising a
   11         reference to the deadline for a person who cast a
   12         provisional ballot to present evidence verifying
   13         authenticity of certain information in a voter
   14         registration application, to conform; amending s.
   15         101.048, F.S.; extending the timeframe for which a
   16         person who cast a provisional ballot may present
   17         written evidence supporting his or her eligibility to
   18         vote; revising requirements for instructions provided
   19         to a person who casts a provisional ballot, to
   20         conform; requiring the supervisor to provide certain
   21         notification to a person whose provisional ballot was
   22         rejected; requiring the supervisor to allow a person
   23         who voted a provisional ballot to present
   24         identification and submit an affidavit to cure an
   25         unsigned Provisional Ballot Voter’s Certificate and
   26         Affirmation or a provisional ballot rejected due to a
   27         signature discrepancy; prescribing the form and
   28         content of the affidavit; providing instructions to
   29         accompany each affidavit; requiring the affidavit,
   30         instructions, and the supervisor’s contact information
   31         to be posted on specified websites; requiring the
   32         supervisor to attach a received affidavit to the
   33         corresponding provisional ballot envelope; providing
   34         an effective date.
