       Senator Lee moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 210 and 211
    4  insert:
    5         Section 4. Paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section
    6  1002.3305, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         1002.3305 College-Preparatory Boarding Academy Pilot
    8  Program for at-risk students.—
    9         (2) DEFINITIONS.—As used in this section, the term:
   10         (b) “Eligible student” means a student who is a resident of
   11  the state and entitled to attend school in a participating
   12  school district, is at risk of academic failure, is currently
   13  enrolled in grade 5-12 grade 5 or 6, is from a family whose
   14  gross income is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty
   15  guidelines, is eligible for benefits or services funded by
   16  Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Title IV-E of
   17  the Social Security Act, and meets at least one of the following
   18  additional risk factors:
   19         1. The child is in foster care or has been declared an
   20  adjudicated dependent by a court.
   21         2. The student’s head of household is not the student’s
   22  custodial parent.
   23         3. The student resides in a household that receives a
   24  housing voucher or has been determined eligible for public
   25  housing assistance.
   26         4. A member of the student’s immediate family has been
   27  incarcerated.
   28         5. The child is covered under the terms of the state’s
   29  Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration project with the United
   30  States Department of Health and Human Services.
