       The Committee on Education (Mayfield) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (826696) (with directory and
    2  title amendments)

    4         Between lines 2776 and 2777
    5  insert:
    6         (b)1. In order to demonstrate eligibility for an award, an
    7  eligible classroom teacher must submit to the school district,
    8  no later than November 1, an official record of his or her
    9  qualifying assessment score and, beginning with the 2020-2021
   10  school year, an official transcript demonstrating that he or she
   11  graduated cum laude or higher with a baccalaureate degree, if
   12  applicable. Once a classroom teacher is deemed eligible by the
   13  school district, the teacher shall remain eligible as long as he
   14  or she remains employed by the school district as a classroom
   15  teacher at the time of the award and receives an annual
   16  performance evaluation rating of highly effective pursuant to s.
   17  1012.34 or is evaluated as highly effective based on a
   18  commissioner-approved student learning growth formula pursuant
   19  to s. 1012.34(8) for the 2019-2020 school year or thereafter.
   20         2. A school district employee who, in the prior school
   21  year, was rated highly effective and met the eligibility
   22  requirements under this section as a classroom teacher, is
   23  eligible to receive a scholarship award during the current
   24  school year if he or she maintains employment with the school
   25  district.

   30  and insert:
   31         Section 30. Paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection (3) of
   32  section 1012.731, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:

   37  and insert:
   38         amending s. 1012.731, F.S.; extending eligibility for

   41         immediately preceding school year, were classroom
   42         teachers and met eligibility requirements; deleting
   43         scholarship
