       The Committee on Health Policy (Cruz) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 210 and 211
    4  insert:
    5         (7) An advanced birth center shall implement a
    6  comprehensive risk management program and a comprehensive
    7  process for the evaluation of employees to ensure that it
    8  employs competent medical staff. Advanced birth centers are
    9  liable for any failure to exercise due care in fulfilling such
   10  responsibilities when such failure is a proximate cause of
   11  injury to a patient.
   12         (8) An advanced birth center shall maintain in force
   13  liability insurance coverage, as defined in s. 624.605(1)(b), in
   14  an amount of not less than $250,000 per claim.
