       The Committee on Rules (Bean) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 25 - 35
    4  and insert:
    5  is employed, by a law enforcement agency or a correctional
    6  agency for the principal purpose of aiding in the detection of
    7  criminal activity, enforcement of laws, or apprehension of
    8  offenders.
    9         (b) “Fire canine dog” means any canine dog that is owned,
   10  or the service of which is employed, by a fire department, a
   11  special fire district, or the State Fire Marshal for the
   12  principal purpose of aiding in the detection of flammable
   13  materials or the investigation of fires.
   14         (c) “SAR canine dog” means any search and rescue canine dog
   15  that is owned, or the service of which is employed utilized, by
   16  a fire department, a law enforcement agency, a correctional
   17  agency, a special fire

   21         Delete line 6
   22  and insert:
   23         "SAR canine"; expanding the definitions of "police
   24         canine" and "SAR canine" to include any canine that is
   25         owned, or the service of which is employed, by a
   26         correctional agency; increasing the penalty for
   27         intentionally
