       Senator Montford moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

    3         Between lines 684 and 685
    4  insert:
    5         (e) If an immediate mental health or substance abuse crisis
    6  is suspected, school personnel shall follow policies established
    7  by the threat assessment team to engage behavioral health crisis
    8  resources. Behavioral health crisis resources, including, but
    9  not limited to, mobile crisis teams and school resource officers
   10  trained in crisis intervention, shall provide emergency
   11  intervention and assessment, make recommendations, and refer the
   12  student for appropriate services. Onsite school personnel shall
   13  report all such situations and actions taken to the threat
   14  assessment team, which shall contact the other agencies involved
   15  with the student and any known service providers to share
   16  information and coordinate any necessary followup actions. Upon
   17  the student’s transfer to a different school within the
   18  district, the threat assessment team or school administration
   19  shall verify that the receiving school has received the
   20  student’s records identifying the intervention services the
   21  student received. The receiving school should provide similar
   22  intervention services to the student within its programs and
   23  practices, as applicable, until the threat assessment team of
   24  the receiving school independently determines the need for and
   25  composition of intervention services. The threat assessment team
   26  or school administration shall verify the receipt of records for
   27  any student who transfers to another school within the state but
   28  outside of the school district the threat assessment team shall
   29  verify that any intervention services provided to the student
   30  remain in place until the threat assessment team of the
   31  receiving school independently determines the need for
   32  intervention services.
