| 3 | F.S.; redefining the terms "permanent residence" and |
| 4 | "temporary residence" in order to reduce the number of |
| 5 | consecutive days and days in the aggregate which |
| 6 | constitute the residence of a sexual predator for purposes |
| 7 | of requirements that the predator register with the |
| 8 | Department of Law Enforcement, the sheriff's office, or |
| 9 | the Department of Corrections; providing an effective |
| 10 | date. |

| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |
|
| 14 | Section 1. Paragraphs (f) and (g) of subsection (2) of |
| 15 | section 775.21, Florida Statutes, are amended to read: |
| 16 | 775.21 The Florida Sexual Predators Act.-- |
| 17 | (2) DEFINITIONS.--As used in this section, the term: |
| 18 | (f) "Permanent residence" means a place where the person |
| 19 | abides, lodges, or resides for 5 14 or more consecutive days. |
| 20 | (g) "Temporary residence" means a place where the person |
| 21 | abides, lodges, or resides for a period of 5 14 or more days in |
| 22 | the aggregate during any calendar year and which is not the |
| 23 | person's permanent address; for a person whose permanent |
| 24 | residence is not in this state, a place where the person is |
| 25 | employed, practices a vocation, or is enrolled as a student for |
| 26 | any period of time in this state; or a place where the person |
| 27 | routinely abides, lodges, or resides for a period of 4 or more |
| 28 | consecutive or nonconsecutive days in any month and which is not |
| 29 | the person's permanent residence, including any out-of-state |
| 30 | address. |
| 31 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006. |
