UPDATE:Broward Hurricane Preparedness

Storm Shelters/Evacuation

Fort Lauderdale —

As our State continues to prepare for Hurricane Irma it is important to remember the following information. In Broward County, Flood zones A and B are under mandatory evacuation. Broward County is likely to experience significant wind storm turbulence and extended rainfall due to Irma. If you must stay in Broward then the following storm shelters have been opened and made available. Those shelters are available here. Please take a moment to reflect on the locations nearest your home. Those shelters are also listed below.

I cannot stress enough the importance of preparedness when it comes to this storm. We have a real possibility of dealing with a life-threatening hurricane in the coming days, so everything that you can do to be ready is of the utmost importance.
