On July 6th, State Senator Annette Taddeo (D-Miami) will be hosting a roundtable at her Senate District office on the urgent need to renew and redesignate TPS for Venezuelans. President Biden designated TPS for Venezuelans in March 2021 which has allowed over 240,000 to apply and reside lawfully in the United States. TPS designation for Venezuelans is set to expire in September 2022 and with the deadline to extend TPS in early July, Senator Taddeo and members of the Florida legislature sent a letter on July 5th, Venezuela’s Day of Independence, to President Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas to renew and redesignate TPS for Venezuelans.
