HB 267, First Engrossed/ntc 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to campaign financing; amending 3 s. 106.07, F.S.; revising reporting 4 requirements applicable to candidates for other 5 than statewide office who qualify with the 6 Department of State; providing an effective 7 date. 8 9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10 11 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 12 106.07, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 13 106.07 Reports; certification and filing.-- 14 (2)(a) All reports required of a candidate by this 15 section shall be filed with the officer before whom the 16 candidate is required by law to qualify. All candidates who 17 file with the Department of State shall file the original and 18 one copy of their reports. In addition, a copy of each report 19 for candidates for other than statewide office who qualify 20 with the Department of State shall be furnished to filed with 21 the Supervisor of Elections in each the county any portion of 22 which is within the jurisdiction of the office where the 23 candidate seeks resides. Reports to the Department of State 24 shall be filed not later than 5 p.m. of the day designated; 25 however, any report postmarked by the United States Postal 26 Service no later than midnight of the day designated shall be 27 deemed to have been filed in a timely manner. A certificate 28 of mailing obtained from and dated by the United States Postal 29 Service at the time of mailing, or a receipt from an 30 established courier company, which bears a date on or before 31 the date on which the report is due, shall be proof of mailing 1 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. Reports shall contain information of all 2 previously unreported contributions received and expenditures 3 made as of the preceding Friday, except that the report filed 4 on the Friday immediately preceding the election shall contain 5 information of all previously unreported contributions 6 received and expenditures made as of the day preceding that 7 designated due date.
