1 House Resolution
2 A resolution recognizing the 1997 Class 3A
3 Boys' State Basketball Champions, the Tiger
4 Sharks of Port St. Joe High School.

6 WHEREAS, the Port St. Joe High School Tiger Sharks have
7 won the 1997 Class 3A Boys' State Basketball title, and
8 WHEREAS, the 1997 championship title is the third such
9 title in four years, and the second consecutive title for Port
10 St. Joe High School, and
11 WHEREAS, on March 6, 1997, at the George Jenkins Arena
12 in Lakeland, the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks defeated Tampa
13 Prep, 47-43, in the championship game, and
14 WHEREAS, the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks completed their
15 championship season with a 31-3 record, and
16 WHEREAS, James Daniels was named the tournament's Most
17 Valuable Player, and
18 WHEREAS, team members Kyle Adkison, Davin Baxter,
19 Derius Chambers, Rod Chambers, Doyle Crosby, James Daniels,
20 Jeremy Dixon, Brian Jenkins, C.E. Jones, Cameron Likely, Kelon
21 McNair, Tyson Pittman, Germaine Roulhac, and Russell Russ,
22 Head Coach Vernon Eppinette, and Assistant Coaches Kenny
23 Parker and Steve Maxwell are to be commended for their
24 accomplishments, NOW, THEREFORE,

26 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
27 Florida:

29 That the Port St. Joe High School Tiger Sharks be
30 commended for their outstanding accomplishments and for
31 winning the 1997 Class 3A Boys' State Basketball Championship.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
2 be presented to the members of the Port St. Joe High School
3 Tiger Sharks basketball team and to their Head Coach and

5 expressed herein.
