  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending Pastor W.C. Chambliss

  3         and his wife Sabrenna for founding Project

  4         Abundant Life, an after-school mentoring

  5         program for children.

  6

  7         WHEREAS, Pastor W.C. Chambliss and his wife Sabrenna

  8  through their church activities noticed that there were many

  9  children with poor reading skills who spent a large amount of

10  time home alone, watching television or playing video games,

11  and

12         WHEREAS, this led to the formation of Project Abundant

13  Life, which was designed to connect participants with tutors

14  who provide assistance throughout the school year in basic

15  computer training, reading, math, and social skills, and

16         WHEREAS, the program has been very successful in the

17  City of Jacksonville, and has contributed to the well-being

18  and development of many young children who would otherwise

19  have missed the opportunity to advance in school, and

20         WHEREAS, Project Abundant Life is a model which other

21  communities could use to assist their young children in

22  developing social skills and learning abilities for the

23  betterment of the community, and

24         WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the

25  Legislature of the State of Florida commend Pastor W.C.

26  Chambliss and Sabrenna for their accomplishments, NOW,

27  THEREFORE,

29  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

30  Florida:

  1         That the House of Representatives of the State of

  2  Florida hereby commends Pastor W.C. Chambliss and his wife

  3  Sabrenna for their accomplishments in founding Project

  4  Abundant Life and wishes them well in their future endeavors.

  5         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  6  be presented to Pastor W.C. Chambliss and Sabrenna as a

  7  tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
