Rollason served as Executive 6 Director of Redlands Christian Migrant Association for over 25 7 years, ensuring and expanding child-care services for migrant 8 and poor children in Florida, and 9 WHEREAS, Redlands Christian Migrant Association now 10 provides child-care services to over 6,000 migrant and poor 11 children per day with a staff of over 1,000, most of whom are 12 wives of farmworkers, making it the largest private nonprofit 13 child-care provider in the nation, and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Rollason created partnerships with 15 government, businesses, and agriculture for increasing and 16 ensuring child-care services for migrant children, 17 partnerships which are unique in the state and the nation, and 18 WHEREAS, Mr. Rollason, under Governors Graham, Mixon, 19 Martinez, and Chiles, served as the only chairman of the 20 Governor's Advisory Council on Farmworker Affairs since its 21 inception in 1979, and served on several other state and 22 national committees and councils as a spokesperson for 23 farmworkers and the rural poor, and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Rollason measured his success, never in 25 terms of personal or monetary reward, but in contributions 26 made to others, growth in people he worked with and for, and 27 protections and opportunities afforded the less fortunate in 28 our society, and 29 WHEREAS, the life and contributions of Mr. Rollason 30 resulted in a better Florida for all of its citizens, 31 regardless of status or occupation, but especially for poor 1 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions.
