11  Senator Latvala moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 3, between lines 25 and 26,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 5.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the

18  contrary, the governing body of a municipality or a county

19  containing a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency brownfield

20  pilot project that was designated as of May 1, 1997, may apply

21  to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development

22  before December 31, 1999, to amend the boundaries of an

23  enterprise zone designated in a municipality or a county

24  containing such brownfield pilot project. The office shall

25  approve the application to amend the boundaries of the

26  enterprise zone if the added area does not increase the

27  overall size of the expanded zone more than its original size

28  or 20 square miles, whichever is larger.
