11  The Committee on Community Affairs offered the following:

13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 2, lines 11 through 21,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

16

17  and insert in lieu thereof:  196.1978 Low-income housing

18  property exemption.--Property used to provide housing pursuant

19  to any state housing program authorized under chapter 420 or

20  other similar local or federal governmental affordable housing

21  program for persons with incomes defined under s. 420.0004,

22  which property is owned entirely by a nonprofit corporation

23  which is qualified as charitable under s. 501(c)(3) of the

24  Internal Revenue Code and which complies with Rev. Proc.

25  96-32,1996-1 C.B. 717, shall be considered property owned by

26  an exempt entity and used for a charitable purpose, and such

27  property shall be exempt from ad valorem taxation.
