13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 14, line 1, after the period
15
16 insert: The school principal or his or her designee shall,
17 prior to placement in a dropout prevention and academic
18 intervention program or the provision of an academic service,
19 provide written notice of placement or services by
20 return-receipt mail to the student's parent, guardian, or
21 legal custodian. The parent, guardian, or legal custodian of
22 the student shall sign an acknowledgment of the notice of
23 placement or service and return the signed acknowledgement to
24 the principal within three days after receipt of the notice.
