2 University of North Florida the "John and
3 Geraldine Hayt Golf Management & Learning
4 Center"; authorizing the erection of suitable
5 markers; providing an effective date.

7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
8
9 Section 1. The baseball field at the Florida A & M
10 University is designated the "Oscar A. Moore - Costa Kittles
11 Baseball Field" in honor of the university's baseball coach
12 who demonstrated extraordinary leadership ability and
13 outstanding contribution to the university and its students.
14 During Mr. Kittle's tenure, the team won eight SIAC baseball
15 titles, six NAIA district playoffs, and one NAIA national
16 tournament.
17 Section 2. The tennis courts located at Florida A & M
18 University are designated the "Althea Gibson Tennis Courts" in
19 honor of the university's star athlete and pioneer in the
20 realm of professional tennis as the first African-American to
21 win Wimbledon.
22 Section 3. Building #2, which houses the Colleges of
23 Arts and Sciences and Business at Florida Gulf Coast
24 University, is designated the "Charles B. Reed Hall" in
25 recognition of his tireless and dedicated services as
26 Chancellor of the State University System of Florida and
27 commitment to the creation and development of Florida Gulf
28 Coast University.
29 Section 4. Building #5, which houses Student Services
30 at Florida Gulf Coast University, is designated the "Roy E.
31 McTarnaghan Hall" in recognition of 23 years of dedicated

1 service to the State University System and the leadership and
2 vision he exhibited in support of the establishment of Florida
3 Gulf Coast University.
4 Section 5. The new public safety facility (Building
5 76) at Florida State University is designated the "William A.
6 Tanner Hall" in honor of his contribution to the formation of
7 the Florida State University Police Department and service to
8 the community as a leader and mentor for 35 years.
9 Section 6. The Seminole Golf Course located at Florida
10 State University is designated the "Don A. Veller Seminole
11 Golf Course" in recognition of his role in developing Florida
12 State University's athletic program from it formative years to
13 the program of distinction it is today.
14 Section 7. Building 1012, located on the Panama City
15 Campus of Florida State University is designated the "Larson
16 M. Bland Conference Center" in recognition of his visionary
17 leadership and guidance as Dean of the Panama City Campus.
18 Section 8. The building known as the Administration
19 Building located at the University of Central Florida is
20 designated "Millican Hall" in recognition of over 30 years of
21 tireless and dedicated services of Dr. Charles N. Millican,
22 the founding president of the University of Central Florida.
23 Section 9. The building known as the Humanities and
24 Fine Arts Building at the University of Central Florida is
25 designated "Colburn Hall" in recognition of Dr. Trevor
26 Colburn, the second president of the university, for his
27 outstanding leadership and dedication to the university's
28 growth.
29 Section 10. The Cancer Center at the University of
30 Florida is designated the "Jerry W. and Judith S. Davis Cancer
31 Center" in recognition of the generosity of Jerry and Judith

1 Davis for their contribution to the development of improved
2 methods of cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and
3 treatment.
4 Section 11. The University Athletic Center at the
5 University of Florida is designated the "L. Gale Lemerand
6 Athletics Center" in recognition of the generosity of L. Gale
7 Lemerand to the university's athletic center.
8 Section 12. The tennis facility at the University of
9 Florida is designated the "Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex" in
10 recognition of service and the generosity of Alfred A. Ring to
11 the university and its students.
12 Section 13. The Golf Management and Learning Center at
13 the University of North Florida is designated the "John and
14 Geraldine Hayt Golf Management and Learning Center" in
15 recognition of the generosity of John and Geraldine Hayt to
16 the university and its students.
17 Section 14. The respective universities are authorized
18 to erect suitable markers for the designations made by this
19 act.
20 Section 15. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
21 law.
