  1                      A bill to be entitled
  2         An act relating to historical preservation;
  3         providing legislative findings with respect to
  4         the ownership of Hialeah Park, located in
  5         Hialeah, Florida; providing that it is in the
  6         public's best interest that the park be owned
  7         by the state or a municipality; repealing s.
  8         550.72, F.S., relating to a study of Hialeah
  9         Park; providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other law, the
14  Legislature finds that, pursuant to a study conducted by the
15  Department of State and the Office of the Mayor of the City of
16  Hialeah, it is in the best interest of the public that Hialeah
17  Park, located in Hialeah, Florida, be owned by the state or a
18  municipality in order to conserve the acreage of the park and
19  preserve its historical and recreational significance.
20         Section 2.  Section 550.72, Florida Statutes, as
21  created by section 12 of chapter 98-190, Laws of Florida, is
22  repealed.
23         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a
24  law.

27                          SENATE SUMMARY
28    Provides that, pursuant to a study conducted by the
      Department of State and the Office of the Mayor of the
29    City of Hialeah, it is in the public's best interest that
      Hialeah Park be owned by the state or a municipality.
30    Repeals s. 550.72, F.S., which required a study of the
      feasibility of state or municipal ownership of Hialeah
31    Park.
