  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution commending the Hanley-Hazelden

  3         Center at St. Mary's and its affiliates for 50

  4         years service to persons with drug-related

  5         diseases.

  6

  7         WHEREAS, Hanley-Hazelden Center at St. Mary's is part

  8  of the Hazelden organization, and

  9         WHEREAS, Hanley-Hazelden Center at St. Mary's, a

10  nonprofit organization in West Palm Beach, Florida, is

11  dedicated to building recovery in the lives of individuals,

12  families, and communities affected by alcoholism, drug

13  dependency, and related diseases, and

14         WHEREAS, Hanley-Hazelden Center at St. Mary's provides

15  prevention services, residential and outpatient treatment,

16  programs for families affected by chemical dependency, and

17  training for a variety of individuals, and

18         WHEREAS, to improve treatment efforts and to better

19  communicate treatment results, Hanley-Hazelden Center at St.

20  Mary's and Hazelden are conducting research projects on the

21  milestones of recovery and developing objective descriptions

22  of these milestones, and

23         WHEREAS, Hazelden is known as the world's premier

24  publisher of information on alcoholism, drug addiction, and

25  related areas, NOW, THEREFORE,

27  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

28

29  That the Hanley-Hazelden Center at St. Mary's and Hazelden and

30  its affiliates are recognized and commended for 50 years of

31  service to people from all walks of life in many areas of

  1  chemical dependency, and are wished continued success in their

  2  dedicated efforts to aid persons addicted to alcohol, drugs,
