  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution commending the Osceola High School

  3         Kowboys Football Team for its 1998 football

  4         season and Class 5-A State Championship.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, the Osceola High School Kowboys Football Team,

  7  under the direction of Head Coach Jim Scible and his excellent

  8  staff, won twelve of their fourteen games during the regular

  9  season, and

10         WHEREAS, the Kowboys beat the Estero High School

11  Wildcats 28 to 14 in the State Championship Game in Ben Hill

12  Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida, on December 18, 1998,

13  and

14         WHEREAS, the Kowboys achieved this tremendous victory

15  and the Class 5-A Championship by courageous teamwork,

16  dedication, and perseverance, and

17         WHEREAS, the Kowboy's great achievement has brought

18  statewide honor and recognition to Osceola High School, and

19         WHEREAS, the teamwork, competitiveness, clean living,

20  citizenship, and discipline exhibited by the Kowboys have been

21  a positive example for and influence upon the youth of Florida

22  at a time when the young people of this state need role models

23  who possess such ideals, and

24         WHEREAS, this great achievement could not have been

25  attained without the hard work of Assistant Head Coach Alan

26  Baker; Assistant Coaches Jim Bird, Gregg Scible, Jamie Baker,

27  Doug Nichols, Wes Williams, Charles Baker, Joe Rice, and Danny

28  Pitt; Film Man Paul Evans; and team members Robert Sippio,

29  Anthony Jones, Robbie Beach, Chad Mascoe, Taurean Wilkerson,

30  Quentin Smith, Stacey Brown, T.J. Bell, Chris Harmon, Sean

31  Price, Chace Hulon, Darius McCrimon, Dwayne McGee, Jerrell

11  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

13         That the Florida Senate commends the Osceola High

14  School Kowboys Football Team, Head Coach Jim Scible, and the

15  coaching staff for their outstanding accomplishments in

16  bringing Osceola High School to state prominence and

17  excellence in high school football.

18         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

19  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the

20  Osceola High School Kowboys Football Team and Coach Jim Scible

21  as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
