  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to ethics; providing for an

  3         ethics course for legislators and legislative

  4         employees; providing an effective date.

  6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  7

  8         Section 1.  Ethics course.--

  9         (1)  The appropriate legislative ethics committees of

10  each house of the Legislature, in consultation with the

11  Florida Commission on Ethics, shall conduct an orientation

12  course on the relevant laws and rules governing the official

13  conduct of legislators and the relevant ethical issues and

14  laws relating to lobbying. The curriculum and presentation of

15  the course shall be prescribed by rule of each house.

16         (2)  Each member of the Legislature and each designated

17  employee of the Legislature shall attend this course once

18  every 2 years.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.
