13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 106, line 22, through page 107, line 10, delete

15  those lines

17  and insert:

18         Section 67.  Effective July 1, 2001, subsections (5)

19  and (7) of section 553.71, Florida Statutes, as amended by

20  this act, are amended, and subsections (10) and (11) are added

21  to that section, to read:

22         553.71  Definitions.--As used in this part, the term:

23         (5)  "Local enforcement agency" means an agency of

24  local government, a local school board, a community college

25  board, or a university in the State University System with

26  jurisdiction authority to make inspections of buildings and to

27  enforce the codes which establish standards for design,

28  construction, erection, alteration, repair, modification, or

29  demolition of public or private buildings, structures, or

30  facilities.

31         (7)  "Threshold building" means any building which is

 1  greater than three stories or 50 feet in height, or which has

 2  an assembly occupancy classification as defined in the Florida

 3  Building Code State Minimum Building Codes which exceeds 5,000

 4  square feet in area and an occupant content of greater than

 5  500 persons.

 6         (10)  "Exposure category C" means, except in the high

 7  velocity hurricane zone, that area which lies within 1500 feet

 8  of the coastal construction control line, or within 1500 feet

 9  of the mean high tide line, whichever is less.  On barrier

10  islands, exposure category C shall be applicable in the

11  coastal building zone set forth in s. 161.55(5).

12         (11)  "Prototype building" means a building constructed
