14         On page 6, between lines 2 and 3 of the bill

16  insert:

17         Section 2.  Study on children with developmental

18  delays.--

19         (1)  ADMINISTRATION OF STUDY.--The Florida Partnership

20  for School Readiness shall conduct the study on children with

21  developmental delays to meet the purposes prescribed in this

22  act. The Executive Office of the Governor, the Department of

23  Children and Family Services, and the Children's Medical

24  Services of the Department of Health shall provide assistance

25  to the partnership on request.

26         (2)  COMPONENTS OF THE STUDY.--The study on children

27  with developmental delays shall determine the extent to which

28  public (state or federal) or privately funded health insurance

29  and managed care programs meet the early intervention service

30  needs of children ages birth to age 3; the extent to which

31  such public or privately funded health insurance or managed

 1  care programs cover all or a portion of the early intervention

 2  service needs of such children, and the limitations of such

 3  coverage; and the extent to which such public or privately

 4  funded insurance or managed care coverage could more readily

 5  meet unmet needs via enhancements in public or private

 6  coverage requirements, including, but not limited to, changes

 7  in requirements relating to lifetime maximum coverage

 8  limitations.
