13         Amendment 

14         On page 2, line 24, through page 3, line 13,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

16

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         1.  Twenty-five percent of such amount must be promptly

19  and irrevocably remitted to a governing board, agency, or

20  authority that is wholly independent from the public health

21  trust, agency, or authority responsible for the county public

22  general hospital, to be used solely for the purpose of funding

23  the plan for indigent health care services provided for in

24  paragraph (e); except that in the first year of the plan $10

25  million shall be so remitted and used, and in the second year

26  of the plan $15 million shall be so remitted and used.

27         2.  In each fiscal year, the remaining amount budgeted

28  by the county under this paragraph must be promptly and

29  irrevocably remitted to the public health trust, agency, or

30  authority responsible for the county public general hospital,

31  to be used solely for the purpose of operating and maintaining
