11  Senator Clary moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 11, between lines 2 and 3,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 4.  The Department of State--The Division of
18  Elections, in conjunction with the Florida State Association
19  of Supervisor of Elections, shall, from existing funds, study
20  the benefits and drawbacks of having uniform poll opening and
21  closing times throughout the state. A written report shall be
22  presented to the the President of the Senate and the Speaker
23  of the House of Representatives no later than January 1, 2002.
24  This report must include, but is not limited to a discussion
25  of the circumstances surrounding the 2000 Presidential
26  election; changing the state to one time zone; changing
27  polling times to coincide in both time zones; and having the
28  Central Time Zone not recognize Daylight Savings Time.
