13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 92, between lines 27 and 28,
15
16 insert:
17 Section 34. The Florida Partnership for School
18 Readiness, in consultation with the Legislature, shall make
19 recommendations to expand the prekindergarten early
20 intervention program to provide access for all at-risk 4-year
21 old children on a sliding fee scale to the children's parents
22 depending on household income. Participation in the program is
23 a parental option. The Florida Partnership for School
24 Readiness shall take into consideration the cost incurred by
25 the state and make its recommendations based on a phase-in
26 plan with emphasis on 4-year old children living in Title I
27 zone neighborhoods and children for whom English is not the
28 primary language. The Florida Partnership for School Readiness
29 shall report its recommendations to the Legislature by
30 November 1, 2001.
