11  The Committee on Criminal Justice recommended the following
12  amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, lines 19 through 26, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 2.  The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is
19  authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of
20  $1,800,000, less amounts payable pursuant to section 3,
21  payable to Angela Jones and Raymond Ferguson individually and
22  as the personal representatives of the estate of Kharmilia
23  Ferguson, as compensation for injuries and damages sustained
24  by Kharmilia Ferguson, Angela Jones and Raymond Ferguson. The
25  claimants shall pay to the estate of Kharmilia Ferguson an
26  amount sufficient to cover any additional liens and all
27  expenses of the estate and the remaining funds shall be
28  distributed in equal amounts to Mr. Ferguson and Ms. Jones.
29         Section 3.  The governmental entity responsible for
30  payment of the warrant shall pay to the Florida Agency for
31  Health Care Administration the amount due under section

 1  409.910, Florida Statutes, prior to disbursing any funds to
 2  the claimant. The amount due the agency shall be equal to all
 3  unreimbursed medical payments paid by Medicaid on behalf of
 4  Ms. Ferguson up to the date upon which this act becomes a law.

11         On page 1, lines 3 through 11, delete those lines

13  insert:
14         for the relief of injuries of Kharmilia
15         Ferguson, and Angela Jones and Raymond
16         Ferguson; providing for an appropriation to
17         compensate the estate of Kharmilia Ferguson,
18         and Angela Jones, and Raymond Ferguson for
19         injuries and damages sustained; specifying use
20         of funds; providing for reimbursement of
21         Medicaid expenditures; providing an effective
22         date.
