13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 3, between lines 29 and 30,

16 insert: (9) During the 2001-2002 fiscal year, and pursuant
17 to a resolution adopted at a regular meeting of the school
18 board, each district school board is authorized to levy a
19 sales surtax at a rate that may not exceed 1.0 percent in lieu
20 of up to one mill of the allowable 2 mill levy authorized in
21 s. 236.25(2), F.S. Any revenue resulting from such action by
22 the district school board may be used for any school purpose
23 identified by the school board. This paragraph shall expire on
24 July 1, 2002.
