  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the transportation

  3         disadvantaged; amending s. 343.64, F.S.;

  4         prohibiting the Central Florida Regional

  5         Transportation Authority from acting as the

  6         community transportation coordinator for the

  7         transportation disadvantaged; providing

  8         reference to funding for the transportation

  9         disadvantaged; providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 343.64,

14  Florida Statutes, to read:

15         343.64  Powers and duties.--

16         (7)  Notwithstanding any other provision to the

17  contrary, the authority may not act as the community

18  transportation coordinator for the transportation

19  disadvantaged program pursuant to part I of chapter 427, and

20  any past appointment of the authority shall be void effective

21  July 1, 2002.

22         Section 2.  Funding for the transportation

23  disadvantaged program shall be as provided annually in the

24  General Appropriations Act.

25         Section 3.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2002.
