  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the State Board of

  3         Administration; amending s. 215.441, F.S.;

  4         revising the method for appointment of the

  5         executive director of the State Board of

  6         Administration; repealing s. 121.153, F.S.,

  7         which provides for restrictions on investments

  8         in institutions doing business in or with

  9         Northern Ireland; providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Section 215.441, Florida Statutes, is

14  amended to read:

15         215.441  Board of Administration; appointment of

16  executive director.--The appointment of the executive director

17  of the State Board of Administration shall be subject to the

18  approval by a majority vote of the Board of Trustees of the

19  State Board of Administration, and the Governor must vote on

20  the prevailing side. Such appointment must be reaffirmed in

21  the same manner by the board of trustees on an annual basis.

22         Section 2.  Section 121.153, Florida Statutes, is

23  repealed.

24         Section 3.  This act shall take effect June 1, 2002.
