  2         An act relating to a road designation;

  3         designating a portion of I-275 in Pinellas

  4         County as the "St. Petersburg Parkway";

  5         dedicating the new Rose Bay bridges between the

  6         Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange to

  7         honor U.S. military POW's and MIA's; renaming a

  8         portion of State Road 580 within the city

  9         limits of Temple Terrace as the "Temple Terrace

10         Parkway"; designating bridge number 550122 in

11         Tallahassee as the "Veterans Memorial Bridge";

12         designating a portion of State Road 77 as the

13         "Lynn Haven Parkway"; designating a portion of

14         State Road 16 as the "Correctional Officers

15         Memorial Highway"; designating a portion of

16         Interstate 75 as the "Purple Heart Memorial

17         Highway"; designating the "Korean War Veterans

18         Memorial Highway" in Seminole County;

19         designating a portion of State Road 100 in

20         Flagler County as Veterans Memorial Highway;

21         designating the "All-American Parkway" in

22         Miami-Dade County; designating "Borinquen

23         Boulevard" in Miami-Dade County; directing the

24         Department of Transportation to erect suitable

25         markers; providing an effective date.

27  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

28

29         Section 1.  (1)  That portion of I-275 which begins at

30  the Pinellas County end of the Howard Franklin Bridge and,

  1  proceeding south, ends at the beginning of the Sunshine Skyway

  2  Bridge is designated as the "St. Petersburg Parkway."

  3         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

  4  erect suitable markers designating the "St. Petersburg

  5  Parkway" as described in subsection (1).

  6         Section 2.  (1)  The new Rose Bay bridges on U.S.

  7  Highway 1, between the Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port

  8  Orange, are dedicated in honor of United States military

  9  personnel who were prisoners of war (POW's) or who are missing

10  in action (MIA's).

11         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

12  erect suitable markers designating the dedication in honor of

13  POW's and MIA's.

14         Section 3.  Temple Terrace Parkway.--

15         (1)  Notwithstanding section 334.071, Florida Statutes,

16  and chapter 67-789, Laws of Florida, State Road 580 within the

17  city limits of Temple Terrace, from the intersection of Busch

18  Boulevard and Overlook Drive through 56th Street, is renamed

19  "Temple Terrace Parkway."

20         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

21  erect suitable street signs indicating that the portion of

22  State Road 580 described in subsection (1) has been officially

23  renamed "Temple Terrace Parkway."

24         Section 4.  Veterans Memorial Bridge designation;

25  markers.--

26         (1)  Bridge number 550122 on Thomasville Road in the

27  City of Tallahassee in Leon County is hereby designated as the

28  "Veterans Memorial Bridge."

29         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

30  erect suitable markers designating the "Veterans Memorial

31  Bridge" as described in subsection (1).

  1         Section 5.  Lynn Haven Parkway designation; markers.--

  2         (1)  That portion of State Road 77 between Baldwin Road

  3  and Mowat School Road in the City of Lynn Haven in Bay County

  4  is hereby designated as the "Lynn Haven Parkway."

  5         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

  6  erect suitable markers designating the "Lynn Haven Parkway" as

  7  described in subsection (1).

  8         Section 6.  Correctional Officers Memorial Highway

  9  designation; markers.--

10         (1)  That portion of State Road 16 from the

11  northwestern city limits of Starke in Bradford County to State

12  Road 121 in Union County is hereby designated as the

13  "Correctional Officers Memorial Highway."

14         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

15  erect suitable markers designating the "Correctional Officers

16  Memorial Highway" as described in subsection (1).

17         Section 7.  Purple Heart Memorial Highway designation;

18  markers.--

19         (1)  Interstate 75 from the Georgia-Florida state line

20  to the city limits of Ocala in Marion County is hereby

21  designated as the "Purple Heart Memorial Highway."

22         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

23  erect suitable markers designating the "Purple Heart Memorial

24  Highway" as described in subsection (1).

25         Section 8.  Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway

26  designation; markers.--

27         (1)  Highway 417 in Seminole County is hereby

28  designated as the "Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway."

29         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

30  erect suitable markers designating the "Korean War Veterans

31  Memorial Highway" as described in subsection (1).

  1         Section 9.  "Veterans Memorial Highway designation;

  2  markers.--

  3         (1)  That portion of State Road 100, beginning at the

  4  western city limits of the Town of Flagler Beach in Flagler

  5  County and continuing east to the eastern city limits of the

  6  Town of Bunnell, is hereby designated as the "Veterans

  7  Memorial Highway."

  8         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

  9  erect suitable markers designating the "Veterans Memorial

10  Highway" as described in subsection (1).

11         Section 10.  "South Miami All-American Parkway"

12  designation.--

13         (1)  U.S. 1 from 57th Avenue to S.W. 80th Street in

14  Miami-Dade County is designated as "South Miami All-American

15  Parkway."

16         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

17  erect suitable markers designating "South Miami All-American

18  Parkway" as described in subsection (1).

19         Section 11.  Borinquen Boulevard designation;

20  markers.--

21         (1)  That portion of North 36th Street (State Road 25)

22  from Biscayne Boulevard to N.W. 7th Avenue is hereby

23  designated "Borinquen Boulevard" in honor of Miami-Dade

24  County's Puerto Rican community.

25         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

26  erect suitable markers designating the "Borinquen Boulevard"

27  as described in subsection (1).

28         Section 12.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

29  law.

  1          STATEMENT OF SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES CONTAINED IN
                       COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

  4  The CS designates the following:

  5  Interstate 275 which begins at the Pinellas County end of the
    Howard Franklin Bridge and, proceeding south, ends at the
  6  beginning of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is designated as the
    "St. Petersburg Parkway."

    Boulevard" in honor of Miami-Dade County's Puerto Rican
27  community.

28  The CS directs the Department of Transportation to erect
    suitable markers.
